DescriptionThe formulae of Special and General Relativity resolve into a finite, (with respect to mass), unbounded, hyperspherical, dual (foundationally seven dimensional) and eternal universe. General relativity describes the universe mathematically in terms of positive and negative, with three elements, time, space and energy linked and proceeding in a circular, periodic momentum or flow. The positive/negative aspect causes duality, and demands two different kinds of matter with opposite polarity...matter and antimatter. The model requires a dual geometry as well, based on "two/spheres". The instability of the vortex of Schwarzschild space/time, far from indicating modeling inadequacy, lays the foundation for the concept of a submicroscopic quantum world...the "surface between sides" of the universe. Conditions at each frame of reference (based on photons in GR) change endlessly creating the "illusion" of time passage. Frames of reference are invariant geometric coordinates on a dual hypersphere, and do not change their position. In this paper, unless I say otherwise, the cosmos is dimensionally described from our frame of reference. It is not my purpose here to discuss string theory or even small macroscopic dimensions. Conceptually, the universe as detailed on this site consists of two series of superimposed three dimensional spheres extending from all frames of reference to perhaps 10 to the 40th Centimeters and the extent of cosmological time...by a single process, scaled time dimension. Each of the two series of superimposed spheres has the common spatial dimensions: length, width and height. This is not a two universe concept!...it is a single universe with two sides, as a coin with a heads side and a tails side. We, at our frame of reference and place in scale view only one 4D side of the universe for reasons rooted in topology, the dynamics of singularity- and the nature of the photon. During my previous work I was unsure whether an antiverse could be experienced, observed and lived in- or whether it was an engineering artifact, existing yes, but not a habitat for life. Some scientists are asserting that photons and antiphotons may be topologically different . If this is shown to be correct, because of the nature of the natural world, a difference of this kind would open up the possibility that we might indeed experience existence "on the other side". We do not see the "other side" for some of the same reasons Australians cannot view the United States with a telescope. Americans are on the "other side" of the Earth, over and around its curved surface. In the 7D concept, our bodies are a twofold entity, superimposed in energy and space, (inverse mapping are the scientific words) but separated by cosomological time because of the effects of singularity. The paired, large, linear dimensions are the same dimensions we use everyday! We must distinguish between them conceptually, only because they are cosmologically separated in time, and reflect the "presence" of matter and antimatter. There is nothing magical about spin at all. The spin of a particle (just as our use of paired spatial dimensions), only reflects our frame of reference in cosmological time...a frame of reference inverted at singularity. For mathematical reasons relating to the concept of general relativity itself, we need not treat large dimensions in a conceptually different manner. The use of a single time dimension does not necessarily indicate that time is conceptually different from the spatial dimensions, but rather emphasizes that time is a single process phenomenon. The fact that time is OBSERVED differently from the spatial dimensions in 4D, IS highly significant for in GR, ultimate reality is found at each frame of reference! At the bottom line, the 6 (total) extended, paired, spatial dimensions are also single process phenomena. We saw that frames of reference, based on photons, are invariant in the GR universe...they are fixed, and the universe in its eternal momentum of time, space and energy moves about them. I should mention, that just as continental drift very slowly shifts the geographic coordinates of Philadelphia, movement in free fall, (involving additional dimensions 8-11 of General Relativity) may permit a gradual change in the coordinates of objects in the universe. This slight dimensional instability, rooted in the mathematically irrational nature of the model (and the observed universe!) is tied to two entropy related phenomena- the role of life as a servomechanism in the cosmos (decreases entropy/ increases order/ does work) and the Second Law of Thermodynamics (increases entropy and disorder in the universe). It also relates to another fact of life in both the model and the universe we inhabit- chirality! I "breezed over" the mathematical irrationality of the 7D and up Einsteinian Hyperspherical Universe just a little too quickly! The SRT/GR universe are linked concepts in the Einsteinian model. Because E=mc squared demands massed energy (photon: C(0+) and finite cosmic mass, inherent limits are placed on the way GR can be used. It is no coincidence that the two-sphere metric, the foundation of the dual universe emerges from the concept of massed energy! These ideas, combined with the mathematically irrational Pi, found in all periodicity demand dimensional irrationality as well. Nothing, except eternal existence, in an Einsteinian universe works out exactly even. For the mathemetician who loves elegance this is frustrating indeed. The question arises: "Do all things in their eternal cyclicity come back to the beginning?" After eons of improvement are we once again reduced to "potential"? (a replay of the same old CD-ROM) I believe the answer to preventing such a thing lies in dimensional unfolding. In the failure of the universe to work out even. and ever return to the same point exactly lies the possibility for continuing change (decreasing entropy) in an "almost" deterministic universe. While the Second Law is linked to this characteristic, so is the possibility of life as we know it- functioning as a servomechanism to insure continued existence at our parameters. Life MORE than compensates for the slight drift toward increasing entropy in the finite 7-D and up GR model. The universe (necessarily) moves, not toward chaos but rather progressively, if gradually toward increasing order. An excellent four dimensional projection of this process is our own development in the womb and the creation of our species over geological time; Ontogeny recapitulates Phylogeny. The Biological universe, like (and as a part of) the physical universe moves rapidly at first, then more gradually toward increasing complexity- in impressive defiance of the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Energy "doing work" and reducing entropy is as complex a process as the creation of life itself. The days of our lives reflect the "short term" (we are talking about eternity in a cosmos of finite mass here!) universal cycle of intermittent existence every 100-200 Billion years. As each cycle occurs and we reawaken, (with no sense of time passage, or memory of previous existence), our lives change little, yet day by day in this life, and cycle by cycle in future lives, we grow and develop slowly. In our progeny, and as a species, thousands of generations pass, and eventually all things become new. In a GR universe, Adding dimensions 8-11 creates the "Triad". These dimensions add exponential stability to the cosmos which may be necessary to enable lifes complexity to compensate for the cosmic drift toward disorder. When I spoke of shifting coordinates on the hyperspheres, I implied something about the role extra large and small dimensions may play in explaining the universe we observe, but the subject of dimensional "unfolding" is beyond the scope of this paper! Nevertheless, it is the "unfolding" characterisitc of 7-D geometry, and the fact that this characteristic can be observed in our universe, which I have used to further check the veracity of the 7-D concept. When we study vectors in physics, I point out to the students that we can usually check our answer before we even do the work...the answer is right under our noses! Forces of 50 Newtons and 30 Newtons acting at an angle "A" of 25 Degrees will give a resultant just a little less than the sum of the two forces...80 Newtons. Forces of 80 Newtons and 20 Newtons acting at an angle "A" of 165 Degrees obviously give a resultant close to the difference of the two forces...in this case, 60 Newtons. For the physics student, one of the most important conceptual lessons to be learned, is that in the problem, we can already see the outline of our answer! We don't need our complicated formulae to get very good approximate conceptual answers, and we don't need telescopes with mirrors 30 meters in diameter to read the "handwriting on the wall" about eternal life in the universe. Yet the precision of SRT, GR and QM, and precise observations with equipment coming on line will enable us to confirm with great precision King David's, Plato's and Isaiah's conclusion that: "though the mountains depart, and the hills be removed, the mercy of the eternal covenant will never depart from us" (paraphrase Is. 54:10). In the same way I discussed in the previous paragraphs, I have used the unfolding aspect of 7-D geometry as a kind of "check" on my conceptual work. The careful reader already should have gotten clues..."day by day in this life and cycle by cycle in future lives,.. we grow and develop...all things become new". The universe- and our consciousness with it is like an onion with its layers. It is an unfolding thing and we unfold with it. Unfolding and layering in geometry relate to waves and interfaces in Physics. Infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age and not death, for the universe and we are eternal, but reawakening and further unfolding occur eternally. We observe "layering" and "unfolding" everywhere we look in the cosmos. Cherry Blossoms, Zygote, Blastula and Gastrula...human adolescence...Endoderm, Mesoderm and Ectoderm are examples. So are the lithosphere, the hydrosphere and the atmosphere. Proof of the unfolding geometry of the universe is coming- soon, but throughout eternity it is under our noses. I'm keenly aware that the universe also periodically folds up too! However, lets not forget the single direction of time flow in the universe, for this is a key to understanding the unfolding processes. Events in the 7-D EHU never really go backwards cosmologically. WE observe time to proceed in reverse at our frame, which in GR is foundational, but cosmologically it does not. The next "cycle" of my life will NOT be exactly the same as the one I am now experiencing, and I will not EVER return to this exact place again. The key is in the word "exact", for in a multidimensional universe- especially the triad and up, real change is incredibly slow. Finally, we should remember that the universe unfolds and folds up not only in the same directional process, but EVERYWHERE. The focus of the process is on each observing frame of reference...us. Understanding the "triad" is not that difficult...as I implied, we need not look much farther than an onion for a nice projection, but I believe, as a teacher that the best technique is "first things first". Lets nail down the dual universe on this site. We can talk about additional stability and development later. To retreat to the more basic, once again then, the cosmos of Einstein is of uniform size, (static, that is, everywhere ) but is perceived below light speed (the "condition" of light internally) as dynamic. While Einstein's universe is finite and unbounded, it is also a place in which such concepts as certainty and impossibility, nothing and everything; infinity and zero, yes and no and black and white are possible- at any given frame of reference. I might add that for very good reasons, impossibility is a very BIG word even in an infinite universe! Does the reader doubt my word? If I disassemble my watch, put the parts in a box, and shake them, without a 7-D reality and time reversal, they will NEVER, FOREVER reassemble into a watch! First the parts will bend out of tolerance, and second, the precise order (and dimensional relationship) of operations necessary for reassembly can never be matched by simple shaking. These facts point out three realities of the universe:
I said that the dual mathematical nature of the Einsteinian General Relativity universe creates a reality which is in its essence seven dimensional, but as we have seen this does not mean that the dimensional structure of the universe might not be much more complex than this foundational number. A dual universe, with inverse mapping requires the pairing (and eventual linking) of the three linear dimensions for a total of 6, plus one "twisted and flipped ", folded 8 shaped time dimension (which many scientists consider also a linear dimension), for a total of Seven Dimensions. Many scientists feel, and I agree, that the time dimension is of a different quality than the linear spatial dimensions. First, perhaps time is not a single quantity! My second reason is likewise intuitive. Even if the "motion and change" we experience are largely illusory, cosmic time cannot be instantaneous, any more than the universe can be infinite, in an Einsteinian model. A "rock hard" geometric universe is incompatable with mathematical irrationality too. Also, we live in an eternal universe, and since we do not return to exactly the same place in time it would be incorrect to equate "eternal" with "unbounded". I can go around the world spatially and return exactly to Pohnpei, in fact exactly my bed in my house on Pohnpei, but when I get there, I will be at a different position in time...I will be older! Einstein said: "Time is what keeps everything from happening at once". The author feels that time is also (especially at "macroscopic" scale) what keeps anything from happening EXACTLY the same way twice. Time is a critical factor in the appearance of uniqueness, individuality and above all, conscious identity in the cosmos. It can be seen then, by even the most casual observer, that as illusory as motion, change- and time are, they are critical parts of the cosmic construction. The 7-D concept is geometrically consistent, for space time founded on a massed photon, C(0+) produces two-spheres. How do we know this is the CORRECT space/time?...Because of the mathematical dualism of GR! How do we know C(0+) is the correct photon description?...because massed energy is conceptually foundational to E=mc squared. Eo=mc squared is mathematically elegant- and conceptually bankrupt. A zero to infinity universe, mass wise is not compatable with Einstein (see finite)- or observed reality. Our universe is not only chiral; chirality plays an essential role in creating our reality. To summarize, the four dimensional reality we perceive (open or closed) lacks inverse mapping and possesses a non-periodic direction of time flow- nowhere to everywhere! The Second Law of Thermodynamics in such a universe rampages like the proverbial "Fox in a henhouse"! A 7-D, dual universe with built in inverse mapping and periodic time flow, reins in the Second Law of Thermodynamics and organizies the universe much more effectively against its ravages- though the Second Law is very much alive and well in a finite, 7-D universe. Nevertheless, 7D permits the Titanic disaster to "undo" itself- on the "other side" of time, in a parallel, reversed polarity cosmos...ie 7-D literally ties the loose ends together. Finally, as I noted previously, and will continue to stress, higher dimensional solutions to serious cosmological problems are not just neat mathematical tricks. Even 7-D in tandom with life, explains first, why and how the universe continues to exist, and second, the conservation and preservation of order in the universe! A 7-D, dual universe not only conforms to Einsteins model, it is mathematically and dynamically stable...it does not fall out of existence- Diracs "sewer pipe" mathematical problem. A 7-D universe is re-created eternally, and so does not "come from nothing". This conserves matter and energy, and substantiates the First Law of Thermodynamics. Finally, a 7-D universe conserves order (loosely entropy) in the universe. Obviously, since everything in a 7-D universe is eternal and exists forever, the order in say our bodies, and everywhere else for that matter, is likewise conserved. |
