Hi:
One of the things which impresses me about the universe is
that it is big enough to contain all of our mistakes...and not only our
misspellings either. Of course, that is not to say there isn't a price to
be paid for making mistakes. If we make the mistake of jumping off a 10
story building for example, the universe imposes the ultimate penalty for
human folly after a few short seconds of free fall! Nevertheless, the
story of human progress has been learning- and sometimes not learning from
our mistakes...our mistakes are a part of history.
We all want to be heard and remembered. George
Washington right now doesn't give a hoot whether history is remembering
him or not, but while we are alive, we all want to "make our mark" .I
understand that graffiti in the catacombs of Rome includes the names of
nobodies who lived in the second century BC; people who wrote their names
in the hope that thousands of years later, the world would see and
remember they existed.
Computer Bulletin boards are a great place to
write our name, and tell people what we think. Despite the graffiti they
attract, communication pays off, because the exchange of information,
while voluminous and mostly not significant, never the less yields clues
to the way things really are. What the Internet has done for freedom of
speech is unbelievable. The spread of ideas and information now is almost
impossible for the power hungry to control, and since knowledge is power,
this has profound implications. The smallest nobody who has something to
say can get an audience with the giant minds of our generation. In the
process, we all learn and grow. Maybe we will even get closer to the truth
and make fewer mistakes.
One of the most significant realities of the
Seven Dimensional (and up) Einsteinian Hyperspherical Universe
(http://www.fm/7-sphere) is that we are so important to reality we are all
preserved- forever. A person who to us seems significant may not be
so...yet they have their place. An insignificant life may, in the light of
history be shown to be a turning point for all humanity, and that life is
conserved as well. Our joys and sorrows, our tragedies and triumphs, like
the universe, are all there- on the walls of the catacombs of the
universe. We are like gargoyles on the great cathedral at Notre Dame...
motionless in cosmic reality, occupying a convoluted place in time, space
and energy...and awakening endlessly at our place in the eternal cycle to
once again smell the flowers, go to school, make love, raise our families,
grow old and await our springtime once again.
Within the next few years we will know. Mankind
now has the tools to scientifically determine whether eternal life is
indeed a reality. If it is, and since ultimate reality in the GR cosmos is
found at each frame of reference, human life will take on new
significance. So will respect for individuality and human rights. Being
all that we can be will become an imperative ...and the world we live in
today will be relegated to its rightful place in history.
Sincerely, Sam Cox
