The Terrifying Universe

I said in previous notes that Einstein was not afraid of the universe.

I am, and my fear is justified. My feeling goes beyond awe and "profound respect" for the sublime complexity and stability of the quasi-static, higher dimensional General Relativity model. I am afraid, because The Seven Dimensional (and up) Einsteinian Hyperspherical Universe highlights my responsibilities and limitations in this brief, yet eternal place in space and time I call "my life".

Essentially, except for the possibilities of the unbounded future, we are trapped. If we kill ourselves to end it all...we don't end it all, at all. We just awaken at our mothers breast and perform encores of our behavior for at least, almost forever. A happy, productive life is well worth repeating, and a miserable life is, well hell on Earth.

As Einstein wisely observed, our "success" in life is not measured by our material success either. Life is meant to be lived well. Who would enjoy sitting in front of a TV forever? A palace in this kind of universe could be a prison cell, or worse yet- a coffin. A prison cell could be a palace. One gets the distinct impression Mother Teresa knew what she was doing!

It amazes me that, to my knowledge, this site contains the first plain English descriptions of conditions in a higher dimensional Einsteinian GR Universe- in the world. While I have devoted considerable time to the site, its actual monetary cost has been less than $1,000...maybe $700 and something. Yet this site is 99.99999999999999999% likely to be correct! One of the inventors of the hydrogen bomb who has read this site very carefully, and to whom I am greatly indebted, told me that the descriptions in the site were off in "some technical details". I could not have received a greater compliment from a scientist who ranks with the top 100 physicists in the world.

The only inherent drawback to this model, as I evaluate it, is its almost infinite, unbelievable complexity, but a quick observational glance in my shaving mirror dispels all doubts about the existence of high complexity in the universe!

Have you any idea of the statistical likelihood that any, open, increasing entropy cosmological theory is correct? Do you know the true experimental veracity of GR? Have you used GPS?

For a few minutes, lets forget the invariance of the speed of light. Lets forget about the curvature of space time. Lets forget about the equivalence of gravitational and non-inertial frames. Lets forget about Einstein, and imagine we live in a remote area, not unlike the world of Plato.

In our 12th grade physics class we have not yet arrived at page 125, that magical page where special relativity is introduced. We have studied movement in one dimension and are now working on movement in two dimensions. We are using gravity as observed in the classroom as an illustration of movement in two dimensions.

The instructor is working in a developing country, with no fancy equipment, so he duplicates a simple experiment, probably done by Plato and his student Aristotle. The instructor holds a wad of keys and a paper clip three feet above the ground and drops them at the same time. They hit the floor together. We do the experiment over and over with different objects- same result. We drop my keys and a piece of paper. The keys hit the floor first.

I take the same piece of paper and scrunch it up into a compact ball. I repeat the experiment. The paper and the keys hit the floor at the same time...illustrating the effect of air resistance but showing that a piece of paper is like any other object. If we almost eliminate air resistance by "scrunching", it falls like anything else.

If your comment on this experiment is "SO WHAT"?!...you my friend need to think about the implications of what has just happened- carefully! If I accelerate a 2,000 pound car as rapidly as possible with a 200 Horse Power engine, and then do the same experiment with 6 adult humans in the car, the more massive car will accelerate much less rapidly, as anyone who has tried to pass with a heavy load knows quite well.

If gravity was a uniform force (the Earth is of pretty uniform size and mass, don't you think), the paper clip would take off likity split and hit the ground long before my wad of keys. Most humans instinctively expect the opposite...they expect the heavier object to hit the floor first.

Instead, NEITHER thing happens! Anything, regardless of its mass, dropped beside any other object from any uniform height above the Earth will accelerate at a uniform and equal rate. Is your response still, "SO WHAT"?

At this point in our discussion, lets appreciate the magnitude of what Plato did. Relying on intuition and pure observation of the universe, he leap frogged more than two thousand years of science- including the 20th century verification of General Relativity and the disproving of other scientific ideas- and correctly deduced that we live in a static universe. Plato, so far as we know anyway, didn't understand the geometry of the sphere well enough to understand what "quasi-static" meant, but he and other ancients too, correctly grasped the implications of what they saw around them.

At the bottom line, after 2,000 years of investigation and discovery, scientists have found that there is only one way objects of different mass can accelerate at the same rate when dropped. In a universe where General Relativity is an experimentally verified reality the cause has to be periodic, circular motion (momentum). We live on a freaking merry go round! Our entire universe in fact reflects periodic motion and what scientists politely call "fictitious" forces. Actually these fictitious forces are a misnomer, for fictitious forces can kill us! Nevertheless, forget the curvature of space/ time. Forget all the complicated scientific descriptions for a minute, and remember that only a merry go round can do conceptual justice to what happens when we drop two objects from the same height.

A first, very logical reaction to this "merry go round assertion" is; "But I'm not moving". Remember that. Our first answer on a test is usually the correct one, and this answer is no exception. You are, quite definitely NOT going anywhere in a geometric universe! However, lets look at some high school, not so enlightened science for a minute. The Earth rotates every 23 hours, 56 minutes, 4.1 seconds right? Well, that's close. Its the "rotation" of the Earth which makes the Sun seem to rise and set. In reality we are moving...rotating with the Earth, periodically once every 24 hours- roughly. Even though we "feel" we are not moving, we really are? I hope the reader is starting to question some of his or her high school science!

The author is reminded of something a person who has climbed Mount Everest 3 or four times said when asked if the experience affected him..."Wherever you go, there you are". That man understands that the focus of the universe is on frame of reference- not mass... and we will discuss that exact point in a moment. However, lets start to develop this idea by getting back to our experiment and talking about something mysterious...four dimensional "surfaces".

We as frames of reference in a GR universe, do not really move...not more than a hair anyway, in our vast but hardly infinite universe. Like islands attached firmly to the "guts" of the Earth, we are attached to the eternal, singular "guts" of the universe. Just as the effects of the momentum of the tides cannot be observed at sea, only from invariant islands, almost all of our life is the effects of the periodic momentum of energy, space and time in General Relativity. We are eternal islands, periodically covered and uncovered by the tides of the universe- experiencing and observing event horizon effects which are a part of the cosmic pattern.

All the : "traveling" I have done in my life, compared to the radius of the universe, is infinitesimally small- but cosmologically significant, for I and all life can make tiny adjustments via a lever as long as the radius of the universe, which affect the entropy balance and complexity of the cosmos. Gradually, taken together with all living things, our observations and activities bring the universe into existence and drive the cosmos- ever so slowly- toward order.

Having said all this, and before we continue, we need to reintroduce and look at a few ideas relating to the concept of the constancy of the speed of light (currently measured invariant to better than 10 decimal places).

Why is the speed of light invariant, without respect to the motion of a source or observer? To begin to understand this invariance of the speed of light, lets look at a series of black holes. One has 10 solar masses, another 100, yet another 1,000. Another black hole has galactic mass and the final one is of cosmic proportions, yet they all have the same "escape" velocity! In fact, by definition, the event horizon is the "surface" location on all these black holes where light, travelling at 3x10 to the 8th meters per second "stops", and cannot escape. It can be seen from this one fact, that the speed of light is not affected by proximity to a large, or even a small black hole, but any black hole- microscopic or cosmic, as observed from our frame- stops and accumulates light which goes below the event horizon. The fact that regardless of its mass, any object accelerates at the same rate as any other object, when "dropped" from the same location with respect to any heavenly body figures into this same invariance!

The speed of light is constant and invariant because our observing frame is constant and invariant. The fact that light from our frame not only takes "particulate" as well as "wavelike" characteristics, but "moves" is also proof that movement does exist in the universe and that the universe is finite. (See "finite" in the index to this site). We can, however, only truly understand the meaning of "movement" from our frame if we understand the nature and behavior of light, and our location on the event horizon of the cosmic singularity.

Next, because of our infra-dimensional 4D frame of reference, there is a lot about light which we cannot directly see- only infer. I said elsewhere on this site (See index: "Photons to Singularity") that at the "speed" of light, time ceases to pass and the photon, from its frame is what it REALLY is- everywhere in the universe simultaneously.

Ultimately, what we view as "photons" is the photonic, decreasing entropy, doing work, "time reversed" white hole, big bang, CBR antipode as predicted by Karl Schwarzschilds two/ sphere geometry. From our frame, what we call energy doing work, is really observing goings on in our sister hemisphere! We have our noses rubbed in "time reversal"- universal reconstruction- every day and miss the implications of what we see, because our dominant view of the universe is in generally increasing entropy. Actually, entropy and complexity, like matter and energy are conserved in Schwarzschild geometry.

We inhabit a frame of reference just a hair above the universal singularity/ white hole and view the universe from our inversely mapped, cosmologically remote frame in time dilation- ultra-slow motion. This is the only place in the universe (within a few orders of magnitude) where "motion" as we observe it can be said to exist. Even at the atomic level, do electrons "move" around the nucleus? Atoms and molecules vibrate and move, yes- when observed from OUR frame! Planets, stars and galaxies are only viewed from our frame of reference too, and we observe those parts of those bodies which share our location in scale- regardless how "far away" they are! (time dilation is perceived as "space").

When we measure the "speed" of light we are measuring the energy debt necessary to move us out of our "hole" to a universal cosmologically "remote" condition... the place from which we actually view the cosmos- the other side of ourselves, 180 degrees and 100 billion years away on the two/ sphere..

Beyond these facts, we must remember that like the microsingular antipode, the photonic macroscopic antipode is everywhere at its eternal location in scale. The fact that we can't see anywhere near everywhere (our limited dimensional perspective, which makes individual existence possible) causes the sensation and observation from our frame of a vast number of almost infinitely small, near massless particles of light on the one hand, and a diffuse wave-like behavior when the phenomenon is observed in other ways. Since ultimate reality is found at each frame of reference in a GR universe, both observed characteristics of light have very practical technological applications at our frame.

We conclude that because of the proportions of the cosmos, our meager "motion" is such a trifling part of the universe, no matter how we move ourselves or our light source, we cannot affect lights invariance. The "speed" of light is a function of our proximity along the scale/ time axis to the universal singularity anyway, and is not related to our macroscopic measurements of its "velocity", We can only truly understand the meaning of "movement" from our frame if we understand the nature and behavior of light.

Even if it is cosmologically illusory, motion exists- period. Just as space, time and energy exist, just as we exist, just as what we observe in the GR universe is ultimate reality, just as the geometry of the sphere is mathematically irrational and just as the universe is finite, motion is REAL. Most of what we observe in our lives however, only reflects the changing momentum of time, space, matter and energy, operating together on four dimensional surfaces, and observed by us from an almost invariant, fixed "place" or frame of reference in space and time. I am immovable, invariant , cosmologically; a piece of furniture. "I'm not going anywhere"...remember that intuitive, brilliant answer; "But I'm not going anywhere?"

Before I conclude, let me remind everyone that "free fall" on the GR merry go round is an eternal process. I have spoken of the fact that a singular Earth or Sun has exactly the same "gravitational attraction" we observe from our 4D, particulate event horizon vantage point. This existence of singularity...the changing periodic momentum of energy, space and time in free fall toward the abyss, the presence of the antipodal black hole/ big bang (white hole) condition, right here on Earth, is conclusive evidence for time dilation at our observing frame, completion of function, and the presence of unseen duality.

What do all merry go rounds do? Why they come back to the same place of course, over and over, for so long as the momentum of the merry go round continues. When we drop our wad of keys and a paper clip, and they hit the ground at the same time, the universe is trying to tell us something. It is trying to reassure us of our eternal existence! We are quite definitely, despite the illusion of passing time, NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

The SRT/GR concept is very profound, philosophically and morally. The tiny chance we have to influence the universe for good; that chance to be in the drivers seat, or the cockpit of the universe, is very brief indeed. Our experience of life is both real and eternal. We must take care of ourselves. We must respect and care for other people. We must care for our biological and non-biological environment... and build a better, more equitable world in the brief place in space and time which has been allocated to us, at our unique frame of reference.

The GR universe reads like a universal declaration of human rights. Yet it also manifests our responsibilities.
