Response by Sam Cox to "Vacuum Elements Roll in Cosmology" by Vasil P.K.

Hello:

Vacuum Elements Roll in Cosmology was interesting reading. Vasils' "hypothesized" (and Vasil makes this clear) Vacuum Elements fill all space and influence the passage of light in such a way as it is always perceived by an observer to have a constant velocity (paragraph 3), (presumably from the context) because even though it SEEMS to move at a velocity independent of the source and observer, it really does not.

This is a variation on the aether theories of the late 19th century which intuitively made sense- so much sense, in fact that elaborate experiments were set up to detect said aether. The search was unsuccessful, as we know, but Special and General Relativity are so counterintuitive, theories on ideas like this thrive even today, and Vasil's is very interesting. Dr. Curt Renshaw, an American Physicist, has, as of this writing, a theory similar to this one posted on the web. It boils down to: the speed of light only SEEMS to be independent of the motion of the source and observer. Dr. Renshaw made the point, from Quantum Mechanics that we as observers look at light with "eyes of light", and so can be mislead.

I pointed out to Dr. Renshaw that if we were being mislead, and light "changed" its velocity in a quantum manner when we moved toward or away from the source, that by inference, in an absolute sense, there should be another universe, of which we are not aware, where observations would lead to the "proper" classical results, and there would be no deception. Still that classical reality would be outside our powers of observation- and therefore hypothetical. Also, I wasn't too happy about the idea that the universe is trying to deceive us by feeding us inaccurate information. I think the scientific method has been successful because we can take nature at face value and assume what we observe to be correct, even if it SEEMS counterintuitive.

Atomic theory has been modified somewhat over the past 40 years, but the latest basic information I have is that Electrical charges (positive or negative) of atomic particles are a result of their direction of spin. Neutral particles are made up of particles of opposite charge in a stable geometric relationship, or they may have no spin. The spin of a particle has an effect like a dynamo and creates an electrical potential equal to the particles mass. If an electron and a positron intersect in space time they destroy each other, and their respective electrical potential. The result is energy according to Einstein's formula E=mc2, and as Vasil indicates, this formula indicates we can raise particles from energy or eliminate them by converting them from matter to energy. The frame of reference from which particles are observed in the universe determines the spin direction and kind of charge; positive or negative they have. I wasn't aware that the electron and the proton have the same electrical sign ..Paragraph 2.

Yes, the effects of gravitation are very small compared to electrical fields in the nuclear area. The possible effects of microscopic singularity on space/time in the sub microscopic region are just being calculated by mathemetician/theorists.

Vasil's concept of the formation of "black holes", like his hypothetical "Vacuum Elements" is interesting. The study of Black Holes has not yet been going on for 20 years, but conventional wisdom is that whether we observe a singularity to be a "Black Hole" or a "Big Bang" depends on its position with respect to our particular frame of reference in the universe. "Over the horizon" Black Holes are observed as "Big Bangs". No special mechanism is necessary to change one into the other, their relationship to us in space-time makes the difference.

What goes into a "Black Hole" NEVER comes out ...not on this side of time anyway, although Stephen Hawking showed that large black holes can "evaporate" over EONS. That is a matter of the definition Vasil himself describes when he gives us the size of a Sun sized singularity- a "ball" some 20,000 feet in diameter. (Of course the Sun is not massive enough to become a singularity) Black holes can only "explode" (matter "back out") when the laws of mathematics help them by means of time reversal (actually not reversal, but a kind of Topological twisting in which the polarity of matter is reversed and it is raised from compressed energy to the entities we understand.)

Science and all of mankind profit when we conceptualize and rethink our cosmology based on the latest findings. Alternative theories also play an important role in the scientific process.

Vasil has interesting ideas, and we appreciate his sharing them with us.

Sincerely, Sam Cox... College of Micronesia
